The Pediatric Neurotrauma Lab of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Inc. (“Lab” or “we” or “us”) is strongly committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe online experience for all users. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) outlines the basis on which any personal data the Lab collects, or that you provide to the Lab, will be processed by the Lab. By providing the Lab with your data, or using this Website, you agree to the Lab collecting and using personal information about you in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Website or provide the Lab with your personal data. You have choices about the data the Lab collects. When asked to provide certain personal information, you may decline, but where such information is necessary to provide a service or feature, your use of that service or feature may be restricted as a result.

 

Information collected:


We collect two types of information during Web visits:

Information that you submit to us; and

Information that we collect automatically using technology like cookies.


Information you submit:  You may give us information about yourself by filling in forms or corresponding with us by phone, e-mail, or otherwise. The information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address, date of birth, nationality, phone number, and preferences. The information you submit is maintained on a confidential basis and used to provide our services and research tools.   We will not sell your private information to any other group, party, or person.


Cookie Policy: Cookies are small files your computer creates. They do not have any private information. They track your computer so we can give you a faster, more personal experience. You can set your browser to stop making cookies—this will not change how your computer works or how you access our website.

To provide online forums. Some services available on our Website permit you to participate in interactive discussions or post comments or opportunities to a bulletin board or exchange. Some of these services are moderated; all may be accessed for technical reasons. The Lab does not control the content that users post to these forums. You should carefully consider whether you wish to submit personal information to these forums and should tailor any content you submit appropriately and in accordance with the relevant terms of use.

To select content for, improve quality of, and facility use of our Website. The Lab may use your persona information, including the information gathered as a result of site navigation and electronic protocols and cookies (including third-party cookies), to help create and personalize Website content, facilitate your use of the Website.

To communicate with you (including by regular mail, phone, email, and/or mobile messaging). The Lab may contact you to let you know about new studies, services, tools, or educational offerings, or to inquire about your desire to support the Lab in its mission.

We will not sell your private information to any other group, party, or person.


Access to Personal Information by Companies that Work With or On Behalf of the Lab:

Some of the Lab’s site operations, such as our electronic commerce platform, may be managed by third-party service providers who are, other than through contract, unaffiliated with the Lab. Examples include payment processing and authorization, fraud prevention and credit risk reduction, order fulfillment and shipping, marketing and promotional material distribution. These service providers may have access to your personal information on a confidential basis but only to the extent that is necessary for them to perform their functions for the Lab in connection with the website’s operations. These companies may share certain personal information with only those of their affiliates and contracted service providers whom they engage to perform services specifically related to our website or our business; provided, however, any such sharing is again strictly on a confidential basis and only to the extent that is necessary for them to perform their functions for the exclusive benefit of the Lab in connection with our Website’s operations. Related Organizations: The Laboratory is not responsible for the quality or truthfulness of information given through its website links or other related organizations with which we may be sharing content. This includes information that can be found through a web link to and from the Lab’s website. Just because we include a web link, or the web link’s information, on the Lab’s website does not mean we endorse it.


Georgia Law: This privacy policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Georgia exclusive of its rules governing choice of law and conflicts of laws.


Request to Delete Personal Information: The Lab collects information that you provide directly to us. For example, if you have subscribed to communications from the Lab, applied for a job at the Lab, or made a donation to the Lab, the Lab has collected personal information about you. You may request to have your personal information removed from our databases by completing this form. After submitting the form, a Lab’s representative will review your request and contact you to confirm within 30 days.


Please note that the Lab cannot delete certain categories of personal information due to federal regulations and other legal and contractual obligations. For example, the Lab is required by federal law to maintain medical records and certain financial documentation related to donor activity. In addition, the Lab may retain personal information to the extent necessary to ensure that you remain on our “do not contact” list.


You may remove yourself from any correspondence list at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email you receive from us.

These Terms of Use do not apply to information collected by third parties that the Lab does not control. The Lab is not responsible for the privacy statements or practices, acts or omissions of any such third party.
