Dr. Ali Alawieh is a neurosurgeon-scientist completing a fellowship in endovascular/ cerebrovascular neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his MD/PhD at the Medical University of South Carolina. His research interests include cerebrovascular disease, neuroinflammation, and the complement system in neuron-microglial interactions.

Vijay Srinivasan, MD

Vijay Srinivasan, MD

Dr. Vijay Srinivasan is the Division Chief of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and a Richard J Blumber Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University with over 25 years of experience in academic medicine. He supervises the pediatric intensive care units (ICU) at the Arthur M. Blank and Scottish Rite campuses with a combined capacity of 104 beds.

Erin Buckley, PhD

Erin Buckley, PhD

Dr. Erin Buckley is an Associate Professor in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University, and in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University. She completed her PhD in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pennsylvania, and her work aims to develop new technologies that improve brain injury outcomes using diffuse optical spectroscopies.

Yehia Mechref, PhD

Yehia Mechref, PhD

Dr. Yehia Mechref is a Paul W. Horn Distinguished Professor, Robert A Welch Chair in Chemistry, Associate Vice President of Research and Innovation, and Director of the Texas Tech University Center for Biotechnology & Genomics. He completed his PhD at Oklahoma State University. His work uses analytical chemistry to better understand disease development and progression at a molecular level.

Jennifer Munoz, MD

Jennifer Munoz, MD

Dr. Jennifer Munoz is the Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Miami. She earned her medical degree from Universidad del Norte, completed her pediatrics residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, and finished her fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Munoz’s research revolves around brain biomarkers to help diagnose and predict brain injury response and repair.

Stefania Mondello, MD, PhD, MSDr.

Stefania Mondello, MD, PhD, MSDr.

Dr. Stefania Mondello is a physician scientist with extensive experience in clinical neurotrauma, biomarker research, and statistical analysis models. Her pioneering work has contributed to the development of new biomarkers used in clinical studies and FDA approval of GFAP and UCH-L1 for concussion management. She currently serves as a Tenured Professor at Messina University in Italy. Dr. Mondello has published over 150 research articles.

Dr. Karen Walson is a board-certified pediatric critical care specialist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, completed her pediatrics residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, and finished her fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Dr. David Carney is a board-certified Pediatric General Surgeon at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta with over 31 years of experience. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He completed his fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University and Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
